Children will have fascinating adventures with the natural world this summer at Camp Zoo. Each age-appropriate, weeklong session is filled with up-close animal encounters, hands-on activities, games, in depth investigations, and organized free-time.

 Camp Zoo Kindergarten (Half-Day Only)

Storybook Safaris (Sessions 1, 3, 5, and 7)

Campers will be exposed to some of the greatest animal stories ever told and will then meet the animals that inspired the stories.

 

Animal Art (Sessions 2, 4, 6, and 8)

Campers will learn about the unique artists of the animal world and get a chance to mimic these incredible animals with art projects so wild, they could only come from nature.

 
 Camp Zoo Grades 3rd and 4th

Into the Wild (Sessions 1, 3, 5, and 7)

Campers will experience what it's like to track animals in the wild and to tread softly and leave no trace.  By visiting animals and their habitats throughout the Zoo, this camp promotes a life-long love of the natural world.

 

Animal Olympians (Sessions 2, 4, 6, and 8)

What animal can out-accelerate a race car?  Which bird can fly as high as an airplane?  Is there an animal strong enough to knock down a tree to get its food? The answers to these questions, along with up-close encounters with our amazing animal Olympians, will have campers smiling in world record time!

 
 Camp Zoo Grades 5th and 6th

Camp Around the World (Sessions 1, 3, 4, and 7)

Campers will learn about animals, habitats, people, and cultures from different regions of the globe.

 

FutureVet (Sessions 2, 4, 6, and 8)

Campers will get an in-depth look at our Animal Care Center, learn about our incredible doctors and animal care staff, and find out exactly what it takes to be a vet at the Zoo and how best to care for pets at home.  This camp also includes a special visit by a veterinarian from Banfield Pet Hospital.

 Camp Zoo Grades 7th and 8th (Full-Day Only)

Jr. Zookeepers (Sessions 1, 3, 5, and 7)

Campers will learn first-hand what it takes to be a zookeeper and care for the animals at the Phoenix Zoo. Campers should expect to get dirty, get smelly, and be hot and sweaty as they experience firsthand how hard and challenging it is to be a zookeeper. This camp also includes a special visit by a veterinarian from Banfield Pet Hospital.

Zoology in the Field (Sessions 2, 4, 6, and 8)

Using real scientific tools to track, observe and study animal habitats and behavior, campers will design a research study to be conducted during the week of camp. Data will be collected, results analyzed, and to conclude the week, campers will report on their findings.

 
 Wild Hearts Camp
Developed with the assistance of a generous grant from the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, this Camp Zoo offers a special day of camp for children with orthopedic impairments.
 
 Sense of Wonder Camp
